Hugo Amador Mendez Rodriguez — "The Blindsider" — is one of the most explosive undefeated lightweight prospects in the country. Born April 23, 2005 in Austin, Texas, and carrying the pride of his Guatemalan-Mexican-American heritage into every fight, Amador is 20 years old with a 7–0 professional record and a fight on national TV every time he steps in the ring.
The son of renowned Guatemalan graffiti and tattoo artist Siego — founder of Blindside Tattoo Studio in Austin — Amador grew up surrounded by artistry, discipline, and the belief that craft and culture are inseparable.
He represented Guatemala at the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships in Spain, earned two USA national amateur titles, the Guatemala National Championship, and a RingSide World Championship before turning professional at age 19.
At just 20 years old, Amador has sparred 3-division world champion Shakur Stevenson and Ryan Garcia — and held his own. He trains under his father Siego Mendez alongside coaches Danny Uresti Barragan and Pedro Israel Marrero. The next world champion from Austin is already in motion.
